Privacy Policy

PBIXRay is made by Alphaverse Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, based in London, UK. This policy covers the PBIXRay macOS app and this website. The short version: the app collects nothing, and the website collects as little as a website can.

The PBIXRay macOS app

Your files never leave your Mac. PBIXRay opens and analyses .pbix files entirely on your computer. The app ships without the macOS network entitlement, which means the operating system itself prevents it from making network connections — this is enforced by the App Sandbox, not just promised by us.

The app collects no analytics, no telemetry, no usage data, and requires no account. Nothing you open, view, or export is transmitted anywhere.

Purchases. The optional Full Unlock is a one-time In-App Purchase handled entirely by Apple’s App Store, outside the app’s own process. Alphaverse Limited receives no payment details and no identity information about purchasers. Apple’s handling of purchase data is described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Crash reports. If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in macOS System Settings, Apple provides us anonymised crash reports through App Store Connect. This is Apple’s opt-in mechanism, under Apple’s control, and contains no document contents.

Report a Problem. The app’s Help ▸ Report a Problem feature composes an email with a diagnostics file containing app logs, version information, and the shape of the open file (its size and element counts) — never the file itself, never table or column names, never DAX or M code. The draft opens in your email client, so you can read exactly what it contains before deciding to send it. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

This website

Hosting and analytics. pbixray.com is hosted on Vercel. We use Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, country-level location). Both are cookieless and collect aggregate data rather than profiles of identifiable visitors. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell or share visitor data.

Launch waitlist. If you submit your email address through the notify form on the product page, it is stored by our form provider, Tally, and used solely to email you about PBIXRay availability. Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email, or write to us and we’ll delete your address.

Email. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you. Diagnostics files you send us are used only to investigate your issue.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For the app the answer will almost always be “none”. Contact us at the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
